Writing books
In your writing books, rule up the first page with a red line across the top and a margin down the left hand side.
Use a ruler!
Write today's date at the top.
Set up your acrostic poem by writing your name down the left hand side in a coloured pencil.
Make sure to skip a line between letters.
Show it to me for checking.

STEP ONE
Collect as many strips of coloured paper as you need. You should have one for each letter of your name.
For example Mrs Guest
would need 8 pieces of paper.
STEP TWO
In pencil, write your acrostic poem
on the pieces of paper.
One line per piece of paper.
Make sure to leave enough space on the left hand side to glue it to your cloud.
STEP THREE
Ask a friend to check your work for capital letters, finger spaces and spelling.
Show it to me for one final check.
STEP FOUR
Go over your writing in black artline.
Rub out your pencil marks.
STEP FIVE
Collect your name cloud and colour it in.
Once you have coloured it in, cut it out.
STEP SIX
Glue your pieces of paper to the underside of your cloud to create the acrostic poem.
STEP SEVEN
Collect a piece of coloured card.
Glue the cloud to the paper.
Hand it to me to display in the classroom.
