YEAR LEVEL DESCRIPTION- In Year 4, students learn about specific strategies, including decision-making, to promote personal, social and emotional health and wellbeing. As they continue to build relationships, they develop an understanding of the importance of collaboration, valuing differences, respect and empathy. Students develop strategies for managing the physical, emotional and social changes and transitions they may experience as they grow older. They investigate strategies for seeking, giving or denying permission in a range of situations.

What is puberty?
Puberty is something everyone goes through starting at around your age and over their teen years. It has to do with all the ways our bodies change to prepare us for becoming adults. This includes how we change emotionally – and socially – as well as physically.
Group Agreement
When we learn about puberty, it’s important that everyone feels safe, respected, and comfortable. A group agreement helps us remember to listen carefully, use kind words, and keep private things private. It makes sure we can ask questions and share ideas without worrying about being laughed at or judged. Together, we create a space where everyone can learn and feel supported.
All scenarios will be hypothetical and discussed in a general, not a personal way.
What are some ways you would like the class to behave so that everyone feels safe, supported and respected.
Let's add them to our Group Agreement
Question Box
There will be a question box in the classroom where you can ask questions anonymously.
If you would prefer for me to answer it privately, you will need to write your name on it. Let me know if you would prefer a verbal or written response.
